Old school is Back in Style

I'm a huge kid at heart; growing up in a big family of mainly boys ( aside from kimberly) some of the best childhood memories I have include watching Disney movies at our family sleepovers or playing with our easy bake ovens (btw, I made bomb cakes). We would play house, pretend to be in school and even sometimes if our parents got lucky enough we would put on  talent shows (s/o to the Johnny show, you the real MVP). On a more serious note my showcase outfit was and still is to this day what defines my childhood- my Jean Winnie the Poo Overalls .  It was to no surprise that as soon as I found out Forever21 was coming out with a Pixar & Disney Fall Collection I had to have a piece in my closet. The Forever21 collaboration took me down memory lane ( the good kind of memories, the once that make you smile and feel all warm inside). As soon as I saw the Finding Nemo denim overalls I fell in love, they reminded me so much of my old school Winnie the poo overalls. I noticed three major trends this upcoming season- denim, corduroy and suede, all which can be found in cute overalls ,button down skirts, knee high boots and two piece sets.  It's a throwback trend, which I am absolutely loving  this fall and can't wait to go on a shopping haul and fill up my closet with playful textures, and warm tones this season.

Italy, Much More than Just Rome

My aggressive uploads on social media this past month are all thanks to my recent travels to one of the most beautiful places in western Europe, Italy or Italia for all my Spanish speaking readers (I see you mami).Being this my second time in Italy I wanted to avoid revisiting  the main tourist attractions (failed) still ended up at the Coliseum, but can you really blame me?. Central Rome is spectacular, something straight out of a Disney movie ( s/o to Lizze Miguire) .When you think of Rome don’t you imagine yourself on the back of a Vespa holding onto an Italian boy name Marcangelo, who happens to know all the  best places to eat in the city and smells like the newest Paco Rabanne cologne? Okay maybe that’s just me.Its not that deep i'm sorry, Let’s get back on track, as I had previously mentioned I wanted to have a more authentic Italian experience and really explore other places outside from Rome. Thankfully, my aunt and her husband have an apartment in Sengi, a small ancient city two hours outside of Rome happened to be in the country at the same time as me, which made exploring much easier. Here are some of the places I encourage you to visit for yourself !

Castel Gandolfo

Too Much Dreaming Is Never a Bad Thing

I’m at a stage in my life where I am  focused on making myself happy and the only sort of commitment I see in my near future are those that will help me reach my goals.  I have realized that the only person standing between my dreams is myself. The fear of being judged and the fear of failure is what keeps us from going out and chasing our dreams, but it shouldn't hold us back. You are capable of achieving anything you set your heart and soul to. When I started ' Estilo Lau' I was terrified of what people might think of me, but why would I ever let anyone dictate my happiness?. Whether your dreams are to start your own blog, or become a doctor no dream is unreachable.  Do whatever it takes to make your dreams a reality. Don't let 'fear' stop you from getting there. Taking the first step is  the hardest part but trust me once you start living out your dreams you will begin to question why you didn't do it sooner.

I am currently in New York City on vacation and absolutely loving everything about this fabulous city.  It feels amazing to be able to blog directly from the big apple.  Everywhere you go in New York City you find something that inspires you. I have colored my hair so many times I already lost count. I use hot tools practically every day and it has definitely taken a toll on the look and texture of my hair. We are entitled to our own opinion and some










people may agree and others may don't. But at the end of the day it's no one’s business but your own what you do or don't do in your life. It takes a strong individual to come out in the public eye and say “this is me, this is who I am”.
I don't think being judged by others is the hardest part, but learning to love yourself again is. Whether you are straight, gay, bisexual or transgender none of those titles should devalue your true essence. We judge each other every day every second of the day, but it's just how life is. We can all sit around in a circle and sing kumbaya all day long and say we don't judge others but that's clearly a lie. It's an ugly habit but it takes an even stronger person to push through all the negativity and turn around and say " screw your stereotypes, this is me and I love me" 

















    Your sexual orientation in my personal opinion

should not isolate you from the world, if anything it should be embraced.Loving yourself is the first step to happiness and if this makes you happy than be it. Be happy, be yourself and love yourself because you are beautiful inside out. The choices others make may be out of your comfort zone, but it doesn't concern you either. Someone really close to me has taught me what it means to love someone unconditionally, and what it means to fight for what you love. He has taught me to embrace who i am and taught me to be acceptant of
what's outside of the norm. It's hard for some people to accept the idea of
loving someone of the same sex or in this case being transgender, but it's not
something for you to accept it all comes down to being true to yourself and
loving the life you live. Love is the most powerful thing we have as people and
the one thing we all chase throughout our whole life’s. We all want that
infectious love that everyone envy's. If you are gay, bisexual, transgender or
straight know that who you are is more beautiful than what society is trying to
shape you to be.

I wanted to share with everyone a person that is really close to my heart, my uncle. For those who don't know me on a personal bases and are unfamiliar with the real meaning of my tattoo here it is.My uncel made a promise the day i was born to love me and always be there for me and not once has he failed to do so. He has overcomes some of life's toughest situations and even after being brought down has never stop loving life. He has taught me that it's okay to be "different " and it's okay to be yourself.He exposed me to a new side of life and showed me what real love feels like. Love has no boundaries or sexual orientation, it's something so powerful and real that it should be embraced.I am so proud and overcome with joy to share his story. Every time someone approaches me with the question " what does your tattoo stand for" I stand for him and for every other individual who is outside of the "norm"
